Juve overturns Torino and then ramps up: ends 4-2
Juve beats Torino
The 24th day of Serie A ends with a show-stopping derby between Juventus and Torino: it ends 4-2 for the Bianconeri, although the Granata found themselves twice ahead.
Not even time to start and Karamoh immediately opened the scoring, adept at taking advantage of a header from Buongiorno and slipping it past Szczesny. Juve’s reaction was not long in coming: in the 16th minute Cuadrado hit a Kostic cross on the volley and beat Milinkovic-Savic, equalizing the score. In the final minutes of the first half, the Granata went ahead again with a great goal by Sanabria, who from the outside anticipated Bremer and put it into the corner. In the dying minutes Juve immediately equalized with Danilo’s header off Karamoh, hitting the crossbar but the ball then crossing the goal line before the Granata’s extreme defender attempted to save it.
In the second half, too, there was no shortage of excitement: first Vlahovic hit the crossbar with a clear shot, then it was Linetty’s turn to slam the woodwork from the edge of the area. In the 71st minute came Juve’s overtake with Bremer taking advantage of a kiss-assist from Chiesa and scoring with a beautiful header. Ten minutes later the Bianconeri hit poker with Rabiot, who, on the development of a free kick, deposited into the back of the net from two steps.
Juventus thus climbs to 35 points in the standings, shortening its lead over Atalanta, while Torino remains stuck at 31.
