Roma knocks out Juventus: 1-0 signed Mancini, Kean madness
A wide-open challenge, decided by a goal that is worth a return to fourth place in the league.
Roma beat Juventus at the Stadio Olimpico, withstanding the many Bianconeri attacks and winning the challenge by the narrowest of margins. In fact, it ended 1-0 thanks to a Gianluca Mancini’s feat, with the Giallorossi once again fourth in Serie A on equal points with Milan.
The match starts immediately with great intensity: for the guests Vlahovic tries, for the hosts the great ex Dybala and then Spinazzola (another player with a Juventus past). At half time again Dybala engages Szczesny, then a few seconds before halftime Rabiot’s framing forces Rui Patricio into overtime.
The long-awaited goal, however, came in the 53rd minute: Cristante found Mancini on the edge of the box and the defender unloaded a bolide on which Szczesny could do nothing. Roma’s lead shook Juventus, with Cuadrado chipping the post on a free kick. Then it was Locatelli and Di Maria who gave the Giallorossi a scare. Roma does not stand idly by and Smalling goes close to doubling, but in the final trembles: Mancini, on a guest corner, comes close to an own goal by hitting the post. Then in the 90th minute comes the crazy red card to Kean, who had been on the pitch for a few seconds. Then, with time largely expired, Rui Patricio says no to Danilo.
