Sofia Goggia explains the turning point: “Regained stability”
Sofia Goggia sets next goals: “With this Shiffrin overall World Cup prohibitive. I want the Superg one.”
Sofia Goggia, fresh winner of the fourth specialty cup in her career, in an interview with La Domenica Sportiva explained the growth she has had in recent weeks, after the disappointment of the World Cup in Courchevel-Meribel: “I think I have found the right set-up on skis in the last two weeks in downhill and superg. The work on technique that I did on Monte Pora helped me regain the ideal stability that I sometimes lack.”
“Already in the first superG on Friday I had shown interesting things, then I had ruined everything with a mistake. In reconnaissance I felt I could win, too bad I didn’t succeed.”
The season is now over, and Azzurra has set her next goals: “As always my dream is to win the Olympics and in the World Cup. What moves me is the passion for this sport, for competition and the desire to put myself on the line. The overall World Cup? Against a Shiffrin who wins in three disciplines I think it is extremely difficult. I’m aiming for the Speed Cups, even the super-G one. A specialty that I love and for which I think I can do more.”
