New blue triumph, four years after the last time.

Lisa Vittozzi wins the biathlon World Cup. Rewarding the Italian è the arithmetic, after the 21st place snatched in the Mass Start held in Canmore, Canada. Now unreachable in the rankings for both France&#39s Lou Jeanmonnot and Norway&#39s Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold, è the first Italian to win the trophy since Dorothea Wierer, who won in both 2019 and 2020.

Winning the Canmore event è was Jeanmonnot, who finished at 1'54"6 with 5 errors. An exploit però not enough to narrow the gap in the overall standings with Lisa Vittozzi, who finished with a quota of 1091 points against the 1068 of her transalpine rival. Stopping instead at 1044 is Tandrevold, who until Saturday was the World Cup leader. Crucial for overtaking, then, was the double between Sprint and Pursuit before Sunday’s Mass Start.

Over the course of the season, Lisa Vittozzi won four world medals and gold in the Individual, also taking the Specialty Cup in both the Individual and the Pursuit. Next goal for her now remains the Olympics: in case of gold in the Five Circles competition she would become the first Italian ever (counting both women and men) to have won everything in biathlon.
