Camila Giorgi: it’s getting tough in Indian Wells
Macerata tennis player will have to face Pegula immediately in the second round
Very tough draw for Camila Giorgi in the Indian Wells WTA 1000. The Italian tennis player, who lands in the United States as number 46 in the rankings after her victory in Merida, will have to deal with an athlete from the qualifying rounds in her debut. Trouble begins in the second round, where she is expected to face the very strong Jessica Pegula, the host U.S. and the tournament’s number three seed, who will be making her Macerata debut.
A feat will be needed, and in case of victory Camila could face another very tough bone in the round of 16, Russian Anastasia Potapova, fresh winner in Lienz. Giorgi’s best result at Indian Wells is currently the round of 16 she won in 2014.
