Filippo Volandri explains the difference between Jannik Sinner and Lorenzo Musetti
Filippo Volandri spoke about Jannik Sinner and Lorenzo Musetti.
With Corriere dello Sport, Filippo Volandri talked about Jannik Sinner and Lorenzo Musetti. “They are living different moments in their careers. Lorenzo has picked up little from the South American trip and is going through a growth phase that Jannik has already passed,” he said. “Lorenzo will have to defend important points and ranking counts are done in December, but the ranking for him is the end of a process that goes beyond the results at the moment. To get to the top you have to work on a structure and it is normal to have difficulties along the way, it happens to tennis players like Rafa and Nole. If the big guys, however, have a structure to recover immediately from these small stumbles, Lorenzo can struggle for longer periods and that is what he needs to work on.”
“Jannik is doing very well and making the skills he added last year his own. The return to the outdoors will force him to adapt to conditions less favorable to him than indoors. In Indian Wells I am told it is getting cold, and we will see how much the wind will affect him. In general, however, Sinner is a player who is starting to fit the pieces of the puzzle,” added the Davis Cup Italy captain.
