Dorothea Wierer reveals the secret of her return to success

Dorothea Wierer is evidently pleased with her outstanding victory in the women’s individual World Cup in Oestersund, a course traditionally dear to her and on which she has scored four of her 15 individual victories in her career.

“In the second polygon I was very good because I was a bit slow,” says the South Tyrolean financer. “It seemed to me that a target did not cover, but instead I was fortunately wrong. In the last round I was the fastest and surprised myself, I give kudos to my skiman who allowed me to go fast. The secret why I’m going strong in Oestersund? We found different conditions here than last week, personally I prefer winter conditions than the heat it was in Nove Mesto, as a result we were able to do well. From the point of view of the overall standings I don’t think about it, I think in part by now the games are done and not much will change between now and the last race unless there are some upsets. My goal is to perform well, knowing that I usually end the season with a waning physical condition. That’s the real challenge I want to face.”
