Indian Wells, Bronzetti and Paolini immediately eliminated
Indian Wells: Bronzetti and Paolini out in the first round
The adventure of the two Italian players Lucia Bronzetti and Jasmine Paolini at the Indian Wells Master 1000 ended in the first round. The tennis player from Romagna had to surrender in three sets to American Pera, while the Tuscan went down in two sets to German Maria.
Lucia’s match was very hard-fought and after losing the first set 7-5, she had an immediate reaction in the second partial and took the challenge to the third set. In the decisive set Bronzetti goes down 3-0, recovers her opponent at 3-3 but suffers another partial three games to zero in favor of the American who with the 6-3 final wins a battle of almost three hours of play.
Paolini’s match lasted less, however: the Italian held only one set against the German, while in the second partial she collapsed under the numerous variations of Maria who won the match with the score of 7-5 6-1.
