Kieran Crowley announces one change

Kieran Crowley, technical commissioner of the Italian Men’s National Rugby Team, has made official the lineup that will face Wales at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on Saturday, March 11, at 3:15 p.m. in the match valid for the fourth day of the Guinness Six Nations 2023, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sport Uno and free-to-air on TV8.

Only one change in Italy’s starting lineup – compared to the last one played against Ireland – in what will be match number 32 between the two teams, the 14th played in Italy. In the wide triangle Tommaso Allan – who will touch 70 caps with Italrugby – will wear the No. 15 jersey with Bruno and Padovani on the wing. The center and halfback pairs with Brex-Menoncello and Garbisi-Varney are confirmed.

In the third line, seventh consecutive starting presence for Lorenzo Cannone, who will complete the third-line department along with captain Lamaro and Sebastian Negri. In the second line the duo formed by Niccolò Cannone and Federico Ruzza, while in the first line Ferrari, Nicotera and Fischetti will come down from the first minute.

Ready to take over from the bench are Bigi, Zani, Riccioni, Iachizzi, Pettinelli, Zuliani, Fusco and Morisi.

“We recovered well from the last game and this week we worked on the areas where we needed to improve. We know the challenge ahead against Wales and we are looking forward to playing and hopefully we can continue to develop the way we want to play,” said Kieran Crowley.

Australian match director Damon Murphy will referee the match.
