The first U.S. tournament will be skipped for sure, on the second one the final word is not yet said.

Novak Djokovic will not take part in the Indian Wells Masters 1000, an official decision and due to regulations in force in the U.S. against Covid. On U.S. soil, in fact, there is a vaccination requirement until next May 11 for those arriving in the country from abroad. The Serb and his entourage, however, still hope that the situation will change ahead of Miami.

“We have not given up. Djokovic wants to play in Miami, and my hope is that they will eventually allow him to do so,” Goran Ivanisevic explained in an interview granted to ‘Tennis Majors.’ “If we succeed, it will be great for him but for tennis in general. If not, however, it will not be the end of the world. Even last year he lost these two tournaments. The most important thing though is to know as soon as possible.”
