U.S. skier matched Stenmark: 86 World Cup victories
Mikaela Shiffrin more and more in the legend of alpine skiing: the U.S. skier won the giant slalom in Are, earning her 86th career World Cup victory and thus equaling legend Ingemar Stenmark.
Shiffrin, who also won the Specialty Cup, dominated the giant slalom by finishing ahead of a stunning Federica Brignone, who gave a stunning second run by finishing 64 hundredths behind the star-spangled star.
It was podium number 55 for the Valle d’Aosta native, behind her was Sweden’s Sara Hector.
