Cesare Prandelli, farewell to soccer
Cesare Prandelli’s words
Cesare Prandelli on Radio Anch’Io Sport on Radio1 announced his farewell to soccer. “Some requests always come, but at the moment the bench I’m dreaming of is the one in a park with my grandchildren to enjoy life with them. No more coaching.”
The former national team coach then spoke about Napoli, which is launched toward the Scudetto: “Spalletti’s qualities seem to be being discovered now. He has always been very good. This year they were very good at understanding that a change was needed. Napoli’s skill is to have followed the coach’s indications: when you enhance the players in the roles, the team always has a great advantage. Bravo to Spalletti, but bravo also to the club, without spending absurd amounts of money.
Closing remark on the Azzurri: “It feels like 2010, it’s always the same arguments. You have to understand what a Federation can do, I remember that some projects we had were bounced. We are very competitive at the youth level, then from the age of 19 most are lost: either because clubs choose foreign players, or because they feel the pressure.”
