Indian Wells, Carlos Alcaraz to quarters playing 45 minutes
The Spaniard will now face Auger-Aliassime
A decidedly comfortable eighth final for Alcaraz. The Spaniard, No. 1 seed in Indian Wells, got rid of Draper playing only 45′. The Briton, after losing the first set 6-2, forfeited early in the second set with Alcaraz leading 2-0.
For the Spaniard this is victory number 101 of his career (out of 133 matches played). He will now face Auger-Aliassime who, statistics in hand, is something of a taboo for the Spaniard. The two have faced each other on three occasions to date and the Canadian has always won. It should be remembered that Alcaraz, should he win the tournament, would return to being No. 1 in the ATP rankings.
