F1, Sergio Perez issues challenge to Max Verstappen
F1, Sergio Perez confident: “I feel comfortable on this circuit.”
During the press conference presenting the Jeddah GP, Red Bull driver Sergio Perez spoke about his feelings about this track and the possibility of battling with teammate Max Verstappen.
“No doubt last year’s pole gives me confidence, because I feel comfortable on this circuit. We arrive with a different car and different tires, so they will also be different challenges. The changes made to the track will make the race much more interesting. Without a doubt, I really like this circuit and I hope to have my say in both qualifying and the race,” the Mexican driver began.
“I will try to evaluate well on the track the changes made to the circuit. The track is very different from Sakhir, as are the requirements. Here the tire degradation will be less and this may benefit Ferrari, Mercedes and Aston Martin. Our strengths may be the slow corners and tire management, an aspect that the other teams paid for in the first race. Here, however, it will be completely different,” Perez concluded.
