Reyer, misstep in Eurocup: Spahija does not hide his disappointment

Reyer Venezia stayed in the game until the last minutes but lost 74-80, at the Palasport Taliercio, to Joventut Badalona in the penultimate day of the Eurocup group stage. A result that, while not calling into question the qualification to the round of 16 already acquired, will almost certainly force the orogranata to have the home court factor against them in the round of 16, unless particular combinations of results allow them to be among the top four in the group.

On the sidelines of the match, coach Neven Spahija did not hide his disappointment at the defeat: “Against such strong teams, at a level like this, you cannot miss so many supports from underneath, nor so many threes without close scorers. The advantage we gave to our opponents, whom I still congratulate, was too much.”

“It is a pity because in the second half we were good at rebounding, but the shooting simply did not work. However, I would like to emphasize, as a positive note, the contribution of our fans: they supported us from start to finish, they were better than us on the court. And we want to raise our level, already from the next one, for them as well.”
