Field hockey, summonses

The Italian national ice hockey team is sharpening its blades ahead of the World Championships 1st Division Group A, scheduled to be held in Nottingham from April 29 to May 5, 2023. Coach Mike Keenan and associate coach Mike Pelino have issued the call-ups for the first gathering, to be held in Canazei from April 3 to 8, 2023. The roll call is missing all those players still involved in the playoffs of the various leagues, who will join the group as they go.

On April 10, the Azzurri will move to the WürthArena in Egna, where they will continue their preparation until their departure for Great Britain, scheduled for Tuesday, April 25. Four friendly matches are scheduled in between: on Wednesday, April 12, the Blue Team will take on Austria at the Intercable Arena in Brunico, with opening engagement at 8:00 p.m. (ticketing information will be provided in the coming days); two days later, on Friday, April 14 at 5:30 p.m., the two teams will face each other again at the TIWAG Arena in Innsbruck. The following week Italy will be engaged in a “back-to-back” against Slovenia in Bled on April 20 and 21 (at 6 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively).

Instead, the last test match before the World Cup will be held directly in England on Thursday, April 27, against South Korea. The Azzurri will make their official debut on April 29, at 4 p.m., against Romania.
