Paolo Nicolato spoke after his Italy Under 21 team’s victory: “The boys played a great game. I am satisfied with their attitude and I hope they can arrive in June in the best possible condition, especially playing, because four or five of them have not seen the field for a long time and they were even better. A thick game with an opponent that seemed easier than we thought but we played a match of great intensity and quality, I am very satisfied.”

“The team showed good balance. We need to perfect some things, but there was a will to dominate the match. We were very good when we lost possession of the ball to regroup immediately, the team pulled everything out. The guys were fine, also because many had not played against Serbia, we faced a level team and we did very well.”

The mind is already on the European Championships: “It’s hard to make predictions. We are definitely not among the favorites, however, we are a team that if we arrive with a little more athletic condition than today and with key players who are well, I think we will be a team that will give everyone a hard time.”
