Oliveira’s team recoils.

The CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP team is once again pushing for tougher and harsher penalties to be applied by the FIM stewards. The note from Miguel Oliveira’s team comes not even forty-eight hours after the Portimao crash involving Marc Marquez and the Portuguese rider.

“MotoGP races are high-speed, high-intensity races in which every rider wants to win at all costs,” the note issued Tuesday reads. However, aggressive behavior can often lead to disastrous consequences, even for opposing riders. The incident in the recent race between Marc Marquez and Miguel Olivera should serve as a wake-up call for MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 riders. We urge FIM stewards to take swift and decisive action against such reckless riding, setting an example for younger and up-and-coming riders in Moto3 and Moto2. We believe that safety is the top priority in any sport, and MotoGP must take the necessary actions to ensure the safety of all its riders. We look forward to being able to support the FIM stewards in their efforts to develop a safer and more responsible environment.”
