MotoGp, Carlo Pernat drastic on Marc Marquez
Bastianini’s manager: “Marc Marquez’s penalty is very light, risked tragedy”
Enea Bastianini’s manager, Carlo Pernat, in an interview with corsedimoto spoke bluntly about Marc Marquez: “The sanction to Marquez is not light, it is very light. He made a mega disaster, he can’t … someone’s death was risked. I understand that he has problems with the bike, he has to put so much into it to get in the top 10, however, in that corner there you can’t do that. You can manage your life as you see fit, other people’s lives you can’t.”
According to Pernat, Dorna must intervene immediately with heavy penalties to curb the attitude of the riders in Sprint Race: “On the weekend in Argentina four riders are missing and that should make you think. Last year you were doing four practice sessions…these bikes you don’t get them right away. In FP2 you go hunting for times, the riders go in like bulls, so much so that twelve crashed on Friday, including Pol Espargaró….”
“All this pressure puts you in a position to get to the Sprint Race like that…. Marini with that entry, Mir the same… If you want to do this you have to put penalties right away, Marini and Mir should have been given the last row on Sunday. So they would understand that it’s not a bullfight and the second time you don’t make them run a Grand Prix and you’ll see they would be more careful. If it was in a 21-lap race Marini would not have made that entry. All this pressure is crazy, the format is fine, but it had to be done with a criterion.”
