Jannik Sinner explains the key to success against Carlos Alcaraz
Jannik Sinner identifies the key to success
By beating Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinals of the Miami Masters 1000, Jannik Sinner gave Italian tennis a day to remember and himself, as well as the chance to play the tournament in the final against Daniil Medvedev, a nice rematch after the semifinal knockout in Indian Wells against the Murcian himself.
To the microphones of ‘Sky Sports’ on the sidelines of the semifinal, Sinner explained the key to success: “The level was good from the start, I had chances in the first set but I wasted them and when I went down 4-3 in the second it got tough. I tried hard though, regained lucidity and managed to take control of the match until the end.”
“Today I wasn’t lucid only in the tie-break of the first set,” added the San Candido native: I wasn’t decisive and made wrong choices. The second set also did not start well but then I found myself, it went much better from there on.”
On the future of the rivalry with Alcaraz, Sinner then said, “When we play against each other we can express great tennis. However, we are young and we can always do better, in any case I am always happy to meet Carlos, I wanted to take revenge after the Indian Wells match. Now, however, it’s time to think about the final, I have to focus on my next opponent.”
