Olimpia Milano mourns passing of Cedric Henderson
Cedric Henderson, a former U.S. player who also wore the Olimpia Milano jersey in the mid-1980s, has passed away at just 57 years old. The Milanese club itself, through social media, wanted to express a message of condolence for the passing of Henderson, an Italian champion and winner of the Italian Cup in 1986 with the Red Shoes.
“The family of Olimpia Milano,” the note reads, “learns with sadness the news of the death at the age of 57 in Marietta, Georgia, of our Cedric Henderson, a beloved and appreciated member of the 1985/86 Italian championship winning team. RIP.”
Henderson, after his Milan experience, was selected in the 1986 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks: during his career he then lived two more European stints, both in France, first in Antibes and then in Roanne.
