Benevento still knocked out: Roberto Stellone has resigned
Decisive internal knockout, resignation comes and club accepts it.
Roberto Stellone is no longer the coach of Benevento. The now former Giallorossi coach has in fact submitted his resignation to the club after the 3-1 home defeat against Spal. The club then accepted them and, according to what has been gathered by ‘Sky Sport’, should now reassign the position to Fabio Caserta. The latter had been exonerated last September 2022, with the Stregoni in mid-table with 7 points collected in the first 6 days.
“Benevento Calcio announces that today it has accepted the resignation of the coach, Roberto Stellone, and his staff, technical collaborator Andrea Gennari, match analyst Carmelo Merenda and athletic trainer Lorenzo Riela,” reads the official website of the Campania-based club. The Giallorossi during the current troubled season were also coached by Fabio Cannavaro between the 7th and 23rd rounds of the championship.
After Brescia’s victory over Ternana, Benevento is currently last in Serie B. The one against Spal was the third consecutive defeat, and the playout zone is currently 4 points away.
