Rome, stellar cast from Novak Djokovic to Jannik Sinner
Rome, entry list
From Novak Djokovic to Rafa Nadal, via Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev and Italy’s Jannik Sinner, Lorenzo Musetti, Matteo Berrettini and Lorenzo Sonego. A parade of stars is set to light up the red carpet at the Foro Italico for the historic ‘premiere’ of the upgraded Internazionali BNL d’Italia. In fact, the entry list for the 80th edition of the most important and prestigious tournament on the national scene has all the top 70 players in the ATP rankings at the starting ribbons.
At the top of the list, there could only be the No. 1 ranking and defending champion of the tournament, Serbia’s Novak Djokovic, 6-time triumphant in Rome. Following him are Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz and Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas. Among the Italians already admitted to the main draw, first is Jannik Sinner, in eighth position; Lorenzo Musetti and Matteo Berrettini are 21st and 22nd respectively while Lorenzo Sonego is 45th. On the Capitoline red, there will also be IBI record-holder Rafa Nadal: the stainless 36-year-old from Manacor will be hunting for his 11th victory in the tricolor event (the Iberian has collected 10 successes between 2005 and 2021).
