The scouting work of the Brianza club continues

Acqua S.Bernardo Pallacanestro Cantù’s scouting work continues within the upgrade circuits in the United States. After the Winter Showcase in Las Vegas in December, now it is the turn of the PIT (Portsmouth Invitational Tournament). Participating in it is the sports director of Cantù Basketball, Fabrizio Frates, who just in these hours left for the States. The return date is scheduled for Sunday, April 16, in the morning.

This is the 69th edition of the PIT, a regular event since 1953 that attracts executives and scouts from the top teams in the NBA, Europe and Asia. The PIT brings together the top seniors coming out of U.S. colleges, who compete in a four-day tournament. The tournament features 12 total challenges, in which eight teams consisting of eight players participate.

Legendary players such as Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, John Stockton, Earl Monroe and Jimmy Butler, just to name a few, have come out of the PIT.

It’s another step in the white-blue club’s journey of growth, which aims on the one hand to build and keep up-to-date a database of the best Made in USA talent and on the other hand to start a network of contacts and relationships with scouts, agents and coaches.

After the PIT, ds Frates and general manager Sandro Santoro will also attend the third most important event of the year, namely the Summer League in Las Vegas.
