MotoGp, Bagnaia confident: “Too early to frame title candidates”
During the press conference for the presentation of the Austin GP, among other topics Pecco Bagnaia commented on the performance of Marco Bezzecchi and the absences of Marc Marquez and Enea Bastianini.
“We all know Bezzecchi’s talent and speed, but it is too early to frame the candidates for the title – began the Ducati rider -. The season is very long and the games are still open for everyone. If I had to choose a rival I would like it to be a VR46 Academy rider.”
“I think that on this track Marquez would be one of the favorites, but Honda’s level is not what it was in previous years. Marc knows this circuit well and has won here many times, so I think he would have come here to compete for the win. In the race we will have two fewer opponents, but the level will still remain high,” added the reigning world champion.
“I tried to understand the reasons that led to my crash in Argentina, but we haven’t found them yet. We have to focus on this race and on not taking too many risks. Austin is a very demanding track, but this year we are better prepared. I think our strength is in the first two sectors, as they allow us to take advantage of the bike’s greater agility than last season,” Bagnaia concluded.
