Genoa, Alberto Gilardino between praise and awareness
Genoa, Gilardino confident: “We could have scored more”
Genoa won 2-0 against Perugia in the 33rd day of Serie B. After the match, Rossoblù coach Alberto Gilardino spoke in a press conference to analyze his boys’ performance.
“I knew that every match is a story in itself. The points think for everyone at this point in the league. Perugia is a lively team, but we were very good today because we had balance and patience. In the first half we struggled a bit to find space, then Frendrup’s goal put the way down and in the second half we could even increase the spoils,” said the Rossoblù coach.
“I cannot afford to sleep soundly and I hope to do so at the end of the season. We have to think about Cittadella, which will be a very important game. We have very open matches ahead of us against opponents who will need points to save themselves or for the playoff race. We have to keep our attention even higher and keep working,” added the former Fiorentina striker.
“Our fans are giving us a huge hand. Credit to the guys who are dragging them and them pushing us. It’s always nice when you enter this stadium because there is an incredible atmosphere. The public must be fundamental both at home and away,” Gilardino concluded.
