Alex Rins breaks Honda-Marc Marquez taboo: “Impressive”
LCR team centaur Alex Rins makes Honda explode with joy in Texas: the Japanese stable scores an unhoped-for victory in Austin, regaining a MotoGp success that had been missing since Misano 2021, or 24 Grands Prix. In addition, Rins is the first rider other than Marc Marquez to win with Honda even since 2018, when Cal Crutchlow won in Rio Hondo.
After the race the former Suzuki was clearly on a high: “I tried to push a lot with Bagnaia. I was suffering a little bit in sector 2 and 3, but then in the chicanes I was pushing so hard to catch him. I’m very happy: I won here in Moto3, Moto2, Suzuki, and now I’ve done it with Honda. Impressed. I’m proud of my team, even my personal team.”
