Inter, Simone Inzaghi in trouble: only one way to stay
As many as 11 league losses, blunt offense and defense swerves
The home defeat to Monza certified the horrid moment of Inter and, in particular, of Inzaghi, pointed to by a good part of the fans as the one responsible for this deep fall in the league. There are now 11 league defeats. The attack, in the last 12 league outings, has scored only 10 goals and, in defense, Skriniar’s absence weighs heavily.
With fourth place increasingly at risk (Inter is fifth at -2 from fourth-placed Milan), now Inzaghi needs a super feat to be confirmed, namely winning the Champions League. Clearly, by bringing home the cup with the big ears, no one would dare to say anything more to him, indeed he would enter the club’s history forever. However, winning the Champions League is, undoubtedly, extremely difficult but, at the moment, it also seems to be the only way not to end his Nerazzurri adventure prematurely.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday for the Champions League quarterfinal return match against Benfica at the San Siro, there will be yet another sold-out crowd.
