Lewis Hamilton future, Berger is sure: “Everyone wants Ferrari”
The incredible transfer, according to the former great, may be easier than expected.
Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari represents a possibility that has been increasingly discussed in recent weeks, with several insiders remaining skeptical, however. Among them, however, is not Gerhard Berger, who like the seven-time world champion has driven both Ferrari and McLaren and does not believe there would be anything so strange about the Briton’s move to Maranello.
“Every driver, over the course of his Formula 1 career, would like to drive for Ferrari at least once,” is the idea Berger laid out in an interview for ‘Kronen Zeitung.’ “Almost all the best have succeeded. That was not the case with Ayrton Senna, but only because he thought that with the Cavallino of those years he would not be able to win.”
“Maybe this is Hamilton’s opinion as well. But if Mercedes continues to provide him with uncompetitive single-seaters, he might also think that if he doesn’t want to retire, trying again with Ferrari might be the best solution. Especially if there was a certainty for him that he could not move to Red Bull,” Berger concluded.
