Ternana revives: 2-1 at Pisa and playoffs closer
An important victory that could weigh in no small part in the playoff race.
Ternana surprises Pisa, defeated in a comeback at Liberati with the result of 2-1. The Umbrian success, which matured in the last half hour of the match, brings Cristiano Lucarelli’s team back to -3 points from the eighth place in the Serie B standings, the last valid to take part in the promotion playoffs. And which is currently occupied precisely by the Tuscan Nerazzurri.
The match started as best it could not for Pisa, which took the lead in the 6th minute thanks to Moreo and his timely outside right on an assist from Beruatto. The guests miss at least three chances to double, then Ternana rears its head again. Already in the 33rd minute Falletti is awarded a penalty, which, however, the Var cancels. In the 72′ then comes another maximum penalty, which this time Favilli transforms. The winning goal arrives in the 75th minute, when Favilli himself serves Falletti a ball that his teammate makes impassable with a looping conclusion.
For Ternana, the 3 points are particularly heavy, since in this round no team occupying the third to tenth positions in Serie B managed to win.
