Federica Brignone, the brightest star in Bolzano
Federica Brignone awarded
Parade of champions at Fiera Bolzano during Prowinter Season Finale, with the official awards ceremony for the athletes of the Gruppo Sportivo Carabinieri at the close of the winter season. Among the protagonists who took the stage at Fiera Bolzano was double medalist Federica Brignone, gold in the combined and silver in the giant slalom at the World Championships in Meribel and fourth in the overall Alpine Ski World Cup standings. Acknowledgements also for Dominik Paris, Lisa Vittozzi (biathlon World Cup winner in the women’s individual specialty and third in the overall standings), Dominik Fischnaller (World Cup winner in the artificial luge individual), Jole Galli (bronze in the team event at the World Ski Cross Championships), Lukas Hofer, Hannah Auchentaller, the ski mountaineers and all the up-and-coming youngsters at the youth level.
The participation of so many spearheads was a source of pride for the Gruppo Sportivo Carabinieri: “For us, representatives of the Carabinieri, it was a fundamental moment to recognize the commitment that these young people put in every day,” said Marshal Major Davide Carrara, Commander of the Winter Sports Section of the Carabinieri Sports Center in Selva di Val Gardena. “Thanks to their determination, it was possible to overcome a winter marked by a thousand difficulties with their heads held high. During the award ceremony, recognition was also given to Olympic cross-country skiing champion Silvio Fauner, who took leave at the very end of this season.
