Ski training over: Sofia Goggia turns to soccer
With the ski work finished, it is time to break out the ball.
Sofia Goggia does well not only on snow, but she could also have her say on a soccer field. She demonstrated this in a clip, posted on her Instagram Stories, in which she is seen dribbling with mastery after the last few days of intense work in Norway.
Engaged in Kvitfjell, in the company of other top racers such as Mikaela Shiffrin and Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, to test Atomic skis, Sofia Goggia’s commitments continued from April 13 to 21. And on Saturday, on the first day of her “vacation,” she stepped outside the facility and greeted fans before taking more than 15 dribbles without the ball touching the ground. “And from Kvitfjell that’s itooo,” was her message.
Sofia Goggia, class of 1992, was born in Bergamo and has a personal bulletin board that can make anyone envious. Indeed, she was a gold medalist in the downhill in the 2018 edition of the Olympics staged in Pyeongchang, South Korea, but she can also boast three downhill World Cups and two medals won at the World Championships: a bronze in the giant slalom in Sankt Moritz in 2017 and a silver, in the super-giant, in Are, Sweden, two years later. Her best finish in the overall World Cup standings is the third place she recorded in 2017.
