After a balanced first half with few chances, it was the Belgian bomber who unblocked the challenge in the 48th minute with a cross shot on Brozovic’s suggestion. In the 74th minute Lukaku doubled from a deflected position, while the tris came in the 88th minute and was signed by Lautaro Martinez on a counterattack.

Thanks to this victory, Inzaghi breathes: Inter are temporarily fifth and the Champions zone is now two points away. Second knockout in a row for Empoli, which remains 15th at +6 from the relegation zone.
