Another page of history in the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship: in the Pirelli Round in Holland at the TT Circuit Assen Ducati conquers its 400th victory in WorldSBK thanks to the success of Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) who scores a hat trick. For the Spaniard it is the 40th victory in WorldSBK: 10% of the total successes of the Emilian manufacturer therefore bears the signature of the rider from Talavera de la Reina.

The fight for victory in the early stages involves Bautista, Razgatlioglu and Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK). Razgatlioglu took the lead on lap 3 but Bautista quickly responded before the Northern Irishman overtook him on lap 5 in turn 8. The Spaniard little gets back in front while Rea’s race ends on lap 6 in Turn 9 due to a front end loss.

Bautista wins ahead of Razgatlioglu, on his sixth podium finish of the season. Excellent third place for his boxmate Andrea Locatelli who crosses the finish line ahead of Axel Bassani (Motocorsa Racing) who, however, is relegated one position after the checkered flag.

For Ducati this is also the 700th race on the podium in WorldSBK. Razgatlioglu now boasts 90 podiums while Locatelli reaches ten.
