Holger Rune net on comparison with Jannik Sinner
Comparison with Jannik Sinner, Holger Rune prefers silence
Reached exclusively by Tennis Fever, Holger Rune blurted out against those who criticize his on-court attitudes: “On social media there is a gossip culture with jungle rules and people talk without knowing anything. That’s how the world is today. I don’t feel the need to be part of that world, I have so many goals to achieve that I prefer to devote my time to myself.”
Asked about comparisons with Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, Rune refrained, “I don’t compare, I’m trying to develop my tennis. They are two great tennis players very focused on work. Sinner is two years older than me so we have not shared many junior tournaments, Carlos on the other hand I have known him since we were kids and we have played many times. He is a fun guy.”
In closing Holger Rune talked about the Foro Italico: “I have played many challengers in Italy and I love the country. Italians are crazy about tennis, they are super emotional like me and create a great atmosphere. If the match is against an Italian, it’s always tough. But it’s the same in any country.”
