Ralf Schumacher comments on recent statements by Max Verstappen

Ralf Schumacher, from the studios of ‘Sky Sport Deutschland,’ commented on Max Verstappen’s recent statements, confirming his misgivings about the Dutch champion’s “threat” of retirement should Formula 1 continue in the wake of the many rule changes in the name of entertainment.

“The past and the present show that Formula 1 is much bigger than any individuality within it,” Michael’s brother said. “Let’s look at Bernie Ecclestone: some said that without him Formula 1 would no longer exist, but now it is more successful than ever. Verstappen says he would leave? Do it, or accept the changes in F1.”

Ralf Schumacher’s statements come just days before a momentous change for the Circus, with the introduction of the new Sprint Race format (untied from the Sunday race, unlike in past years) that will experience its debut in Azerbaijan.
