Gian Piero Gasperini spurs Alberto Gilardino on.

Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini, a former Genoa coach, spurred Alberto Gilardino in the race toward promotion with the Grifone. In fact, the Nerazzurri coach in the post-match of Atalanta-Roma, addressed the coach of the Rossoblù this way as a guest on the Zona Dazn broadcast: “Great Gila, mythical! Bring up Genoa. I have my fingers crossed, two more bits, you’re doing an amazing thing: bringing Genoa to Serie A is beautiful.”

“I was lucky enough to have this great opportunity, this is the reality of the facts,” Gilardino replied. “Then clearly in all situations you have to be ready and they were days, especially the first weeks, not easy because you get to work in a completely different context, even though I have done the so-called ‘gavetta’ that has served me so much and was important. Then I was lucky enough to find guys who immediately made themselves available, especially men as well as very good players on a technical level. Right from the start they gave me a great hand.”
