David Tardozzi’s words after Pecco Bagnaia’s triumph

.

After two decidedly negative weekends, Pecco Bagnaia è redeemed himself in a big way by triumphing in the Jerez GP after a long battle with Marc Marquez and shortening in the standings on Jorge Martin, who è fell in the early stages of the race when he was leading. At the microphones of "Sky Sport MotoGp", Ducati team manager Davide Tardozzi did not hide his satisfaction with the reigning champion’s performance.

"It's been a masterpiece worthy of a world champion, so I want to emphasize that he won the title in these two years deservedly and today he did a race worthy of the number 1 he wears on the fairing of his Ducati. What impressed me most ù è was the determination he showed from the first corner, the fact that at one point he managed the race while Martin was leading and that he never gave up on an exceptional Marquez. The grit with which he made the fastest lap on lap 23 and how he è climbed from seventh position to second and then to first è was something Pecco wanted and we know that when Bagnaia wants something he gets it" began the Ducati team manager.

"It didn’t è occur to me for a second that he could accept finishing second. Marc had a fantastic T3 and I feared a little bit' becauseè on the 7th and 8th Marquez è went really strong all weekend. The problem we had was not related to chattering, it was related to vibration, which are different things, so we worked a lot especially after Austin. Here Friday è morning we were still suffering a little bit', but evidently è something was found over the weekend because è I have not heard Pecco and Enea complain about this problem" added the Italian sports executive.

In conclusion, Davide Tardozzi è expressed himself about the fall of Jorge Martin: "Martin did his race, then evidently he forced too much braking at 6. Pecco still had something in his pocket despite being behind, and I think there was a phase of the race where Pecco, after making that mistake where Martin passed him, decided to wait a few laps to see and evaluate. He knew that martin was a contender for victory and he studied it well. Then Jorge unfortunately made a mistake and the race è went the way it è went”.
