Fiorentina crusher: 5-0 to Sampdoria, increasingly last
A ringing victory on the one hand, an unmitigated thud on the other that brings bitter relegation ever closer.
Fiorentina crushed Fiorentina against Sampdoria: Vincenzo Italiano’s Viola beat the Ligurians 5-0, who returned to losing ways after two consecutive draws, remain very last in the Serie A standings and see the salvation zone now a full 10 points away. Relegation is now getting closer and closer.
The first half at the Franchi initially seemed to see two almost evenly matched teams on the pitch, so much so that Lammers, Leris and Augello also made themselves dangerous in addition to Castrovilli. Already in the last ten minutes before halftime, however, Fiorentina upped the pace: Duncan, Sottil, Nico Gonzalez and Castrovilli tried, then the latter in full recovery unlocked the score with a right-footed volley on the development of a corner.
The disadvantage melted Sampdoria, which in the second half failed to react and was overwhelmed by the hosts. In fact, at 62′ and 66′ came the one-two by Dodò and Duncan, who with two left-footed strikes surprised Ravaglia. There is still time for two more goals, signed in the 76th minute by Kouamé on an action initiated by Amrabat and in the 89th minute by Terzic on Jovic’s support.
