Pietro Pellegri apologizes

Pietro Pellegri, at the microphones of ‘Dazn,’ apologized for the controversial exultation after the 2-0 goal in Sampdoria-Torino, a gesture that actually ignited a brawl involving, among others, Doriano coach Dejan Stankovic.

“Everyone knows my story, I was born Genoa and I am a Genoa supporter,” Pellegri said. “However, I made a mistake and when one makes a mistake one must apologize. That is why I am here to apologize to Sampdoria, its players and fans.”

Pellegri, born in 2001, grew up in Genoa, a club with which he made his Serie A debut at 15 years and 280 days, in December 2016. He has been at Torino since January 2022, after experiences at Monaco and AC Milan marked by a long series of physical problems.
