Superbike: depowered Ducati, Kawasaki with more engine revs
Major changes coming in the World Superbike Championship: Dorna and FIM have announced changes to the engine rpm limits of the various brands, which will be applied immediately, starting with the Barcelona round, the fourth round of the championship.
The bike that will be most penalized will be Ducati’s Panigale V4R, so far dominant with Alvaro Bautista, which has had 250 rpm removed from 16,100 to 15,850, while getting a rev bonus was Kawasaki, with Jonathan Rea seeing the engine of his fireball go from 14,600 to 14,850 rpm. No changes for Yamaha, Honda and BMW.
Dorna has already explained that engine revs will be added or removed from the bikes every three rounds to liven up the championship.
