Carlos Alcaraz flies to the finals of the Madrid 1000 Masters

Carlos Alcaraz celebrates his 20th birthday in the best way possible. In fact, the Spanish champion defeated Borna Coric in two sets (6-4 6-3) in one hour and forty-one minutes of play, winning his second consecutive final in the Madrid 1000 Master’s, where he overcame Alexander Zverev last year.

Little could be done for the Croatian, who held on in the opening games but had to give up the serve to the Murcian in the fifth game. Instead, Alcaraz was surgical on serve and held the break lead until the final 6-4. In the second set after an initial break and counterbreak it was again the fifth game that made the difference and set the tone for the success of the number one seed on the scoreboard.

In the final Carlitos will face the winner of the match between qualifier Aslan Karatsev and lucky loser Jan-Lennard Struff.
