Carlos Alcaraz one step away from Novak Djokovic
At the end of the Madrid tournament, won by Alcaraz, the new ATP ranking did not change much. Novak Djokovic is confirmed at the top, now with a lead of only five points over Carlos Alcaraz. Despite the forfeit, the No. 8 position for Jannik Sinner remains stable.
Paying, however, is the untimely exit from the Spanish tournament Lorenzo Musetti, who drops from 18th to 19th place. A reason to smile for Matteo Berrettini, who returns to number 20 in the world despite the abdominal injury that has been keeping him in the pits for some time.
The other Italians in the top 100 are Lorenzo Sonego (49), Marco Cecchinato (82) and Matteo Arnaldi (99).
