Lecce, Sticchi Damiani sends a message to the team

After the defeat in the salvation clash with Verona, Lecce’s lead over the relegation zone has shrunk to just four points. Looking ahead to the season finale, club president Saverio Sticchi Damiani spoke to the “Nuovo Quotidiano di Puglia” to spur on his boys.

“The team seemed a bit tired compared to the good outings with Udinese and Juventus, two important matches in which Lecce gave their all. We probably paid more fatigue, with a Verona side that spent less with Inter, given the six goals they conceded,” said the Giallorossi president.

“It is a moment in which we must all remain lucid, from the team to the fans who support us with great passion. We have a four-point lead, to be managed until the end. The discouragement for the last defeats should not make us throw away what good things we have done in this championship, so we will have to defend at all costs this end of the season,” added Sticchi Damiani about the salvation struggle.
