Rafa Nadal, return unknown: Roger Federer worried
Roger Federer makes no secret of concern
A trackside guest for the Formula 1 Miami GP, Roger Federer also spoke about tennis to the microphones of ‘Sky Sports,’ and in particular about the physical problems that are forcing his friend and former rival Rafa Nadal into a series of forfeits, even casting doubt on the Spaniard’s participation in Roland Garros.
“It would be horrible if he wasn’t there,” Federer said, concerned. “It will be hard for tennis to deal with an absence like that due to injury. It will be Rome but I hope he will recover very soon in strength and be able to take the court in Paris.”
Federer and Nadal, along with Novak Djokovic, have marked a two-decade-long era in the tennis world, facing each other 40 times in singles: 16 wins for the Swiss, 24 for the Mallorcan.
