Luca Marini, backstory on Valentino Rossi and VR46: “Things have changed.”

VR46 increasingly structured and growing: in an interview with Speedweek Luca Marini spoke about the evolution of Valentino Rossi’s creature from a simple group of friends, to an Academy, to a team and finally to a company.

“VR46 is now more like a company where each department is run independently, because there is a new person who joined the Academy and is sitting on my side, while on the other side of the table are Pablo Nieto and Uccio. So this year, things have changed a little bit.”

“Now it’s better, before it was all a bit strange. Last year and when I was in Moto2 things were complicated, now everything is more normal, but my relationship with Uccio and Vale has always been good, even if they represent the interests of the team they know what it means to be in my place.”

Thanks to those who have helped him grow over the years: “Everyone along the way has helped me become the rider I am today. I think every person I have worked with has been very important and has been since the Moto3 days. I like to learn from everyone I work with.”
