F1, Frederic Vasseur no-nonsense about Red Bull
F1, Vasseur is confident: “We must continue to develop the car in the right way”
The Miami weekend brought the fifth victory in as many events by Red Bull, once again demonstrating the clear superiority of the Milton Keynes-based stable over the competition. Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur also spoke on the subject, ruling out the possibility of copying anything to the British team.
“It is a mistake to think that the speed of a car depends only on aerodynamics. In reality, there are many factors at play. If we just copy other people’s choices, it means we will have done something wrong and we will still always arrive late. In addition, with such a limited budget it is almost impossible to imitate others’ designs during the season,” said the former Alfa Romeo team principal during the American weekend.
“We have to stick to our original plan and continue to develop the platform we have. Red Bull has a very effective DRS and in this respect we are still far behind. That doesn’t mean we will try to copy anything, because we have different machines and different designs. We just need to focus on continuing the development process on our car,” added Frederic Vasseur.
