Jack Miller was fastest of all in the first free practice of the French Grand Prix at Le Mans. The KTM centaur came out on top with a time of 1:31.449 ahead of Ducati VR46 rider Luca Marini and the other KTM centaur Brad Binder.
Then Ducati riders Johann Zarco and Alex Marquez, Honda centaur Joan Mir, Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia), Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati VR46), Maverick Viñales (Aprilia) and Pecco Bagnaia (Ducati). The session may have already been decisive in qualifying for Saturday’s Q2, in case of rain in the second free practice.
Marc Marquez, returning to the track after a long injury layoff, placed 11th. The Catalan rider crashed during the session in turn 11: nothing serious for the eight-time world champion, who reported no problems.
