Marco Cecchinato puts most difficult period behind him
Marco Cecchinato overjoyed after success against Bautista-Agut
Marco Cecchinato is smiling on a Sunday that gave him an important success against Roberto Bautista-Agut (6-2, 6-2 against the current number 25 in the ATP rankings), but beyond qualifying for the third round of the Internazionali d’Italia in Rome, the Palermo native is also happy for the feeling that he has finally put behind him a period with little satisfaction.
“I’m still here, I keep working hard,” Cecchinato told ‘Sky Sport’ on the sidelines of the challenge with the Spaniard. It was fundamental to always believe in it, when few did. There has been a lot of criticism in the last period but thanks to my work I managed to find the best feelings again. Already in Estoril (where the Palermo man made it to the semifinals, ed.) good signs had arrived.”
