MotoGp, Ducati: penalty for Alex Marquez
Three-position penalty for Alex Marquez
It’s raining wet at the Marquez home. After Marc’s crash in the final laps of the Le Mans Gp, which cost the Honda centaur a podium finish, MotoGp officials handed a three-place grid penalty to his brother Alex for a maneuver deemed irresponsible involving Brad Binder and Luca Marini in the opening stages of the race.
“Rider number 73, Alex Marquez, has been given a three-place grid penalty for the next race of the Grand Prix in which he is participating due to the excessive eagerness he had at Turn 6 on the first lap of the French GP,” this was the note issued by MotoGp.
The grid relegation will only apply to Sunday’s race, while there are no penalties regarding Saturday’s Sprint Race.
